Kajal Aggarwal (born 19 June 1985) is an Indian actress, who predominantly appears in south Indian movies especially in Telugu and Tamil films. Through her successful film career, Kajal has become one of the most popular celebrities in South India. In addition to her acting career, Kajal participates in stage shows and is a prominent celebrity endorser for brands and products.

Kajal Agarwal made her film debut in the 2004 Bollywood film Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na and entered the Telugu film industry through the film Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007). She had her first commercial success with Chandamama (2007) and rose to prominence after her performance in Magadheera (2009), which remains her biggest commercial success, and fetched her a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Telugu Actress. Following further consecutive successes with Darling (2010), Brindavanam (2010), Mr. Perfect (2011), Businessman (2012), Naayak (2013) and Baadshah (2013) she established herself as one of the leading actresses in Telugu cinema.

Kajal Agarwal has also acted in Tamil films, Naan Mahaan Alla (2010) being her first notable project, but with Maattrraan (2012) and Thuppakki (2012), her 2nd biggest success after Magadheera, she emerged as a leading actress in Tamil cinema as well.She made a comeback to Bollywood with Singham (2011) which was a blockbuster while her next film Special 26 (2013) was also declared a box-office success.Kajal was also showcased in a film directed by Krishna Vamsi named ‘Chandamama’, which announced a formal entry of one of finest actress into the film industry. Her first ever Tamil film release was ‘Pazhani’an action thriller which was screened with famous actors like Bharat which was a commercial success. But after a few classical hits many of her film did not perform as expected. Telugu films ‘Pourudu and Aatadista’ were few of those failed to achieve success at box office.

In the year 2009, four of her big budget films hit the box office. The lot included of three Telugu films and one Tamil film. ‘Modhi Vilayadu’ a Tamil movie had a mixed impact of her fans; few liked the film whereas other called it an average film. But her classic performance in a Telugu super hit movie ‘Magadheera’ was cheered by all her fans and critics. This movie was also considered as a block buster hit and broke various records at box office making it a huge commercial success. The movies as well as the lead actors received various awards at various film festivals. The performance of all the actors was cherished by one and all. After the grand success of ‘Magadheera’ Kajal Agarwal was considered as one of the most significant and stylish actress in the whole of south Indian film industry.

Kajal Agarwal started her acting from 2004 in Bollywood with movie Kyun! Ho Gaya Na. In the film, she played a minor supporting role as friend of film lead actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. After this, Kajal made her debut in Tollywood and played her first leading role in 2007 in the fim Lakshmi Kalyanam alongside Kalyan Ram, which did worked well at the box office. Her next film was Chandamama which recieved positive reviews and became her first major successful film. In 2008, she made her Kollywood debut with movie Pazhani opposite Bharath.

In 2009, she signed a high budget Telugu historical movie Magadheera in the movie she essayed double roles for the first time. Her character of a princess in Magadheera got lot of comments by viewers. The film was also commercially successful and broke several records. Magadheera's enormous success turned Kajal into one of the most sought-after actresses in the Telugu film industry and she also got nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

In 2010, Kajal Agrawal appeared in movie Darling opposite Prabhas and received positive response becoming a commercial success at the box office. She was again nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Darling. She appeared with Karthi in the Tamil thriller movie Naan Mahaan Alla and movie performed well at the box office and was declared a blockbuster. In the same year, she acted the role of Bhoomi in movie Brindaavanam opposite Jr. NTR and actress Samantha. The film performed well at the box office and Kajal Agarwal won the CineMAA Award for Best Actress for her performance.

In 2011, her movie Mr. Perfect opposite Prabhas was opened to positive reviews, while Kajal won appraisal by critics. Times of India also praised her and wrote that she looks great, expresses well and fits into the role perfectly. In the same year, she made her Bollywood debut as leading actress in movie Singham opposite Ajay Devgan.The film was announced super hit at the box office.
