Devoleena Bhattacharjee (Bengali script:'দেবলীনা ভট্টাচাৰ্য'; born 22 August 1990) is an Bengali actress on Indian television. She is famous for her role as Gopi bahu from the show Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.Devoleena Bhattacharjee was born to a Bengali Brahmin family, and was born and brought up at Sivasagar, Assam. She has two younger brothers. Devoleena came to the city of Mumbai to try her luck in the entertainment industry. And this was when her mother gave her daughter all the support that she needed. She even accompanied Devoleena to Mumbai along with her son. However, there was a phase when her mother, who works in ONGC, could not get adjusted to the fast life of Mumbai. Devoleena then applied for a shift back to Assam last year. She has done her schooling from GBME School, Sivasagar Assam. She has completed the graduation In Commerce (Accountancy Honors). She has done the Jewellery Designing and Development course from NIFT, New Delhi and worked in GILI, MIDC Mumbai. Later she has learned Bharatnatyam from Kalakshetra, Chennai.Devoleena is born and brought up at sivasagar,Assam.Her parents works in ONGC. Her father passed away in 1997. She lives with her mom, her younger brother and her two doggies. She basically belongs to a bengali family. Her mother is assamese and father belongs to a bengali family.
She speaks both the language and follows both the tradition. She has done her schooling from GBME School, Sivasagar assam. She has done graduation In Commerce(accountancy honors). She then completed her Jewellery designing and development course from NIFT, New Delhi and worked as jewellery designer in GILI, MIDC MUMBAI.

She has learned classical music(bhatkhande) till visharad part 1 in assam at very early stage. Then she started her dancing career. She has learned bharatnatyam from kalakshetra (chennai). She has won a lot dance competetions. Was in Top 100 in DANCE INDIA DANCE SEASON 2 FROM DELHI.

ACTING career: She started her acting career while she was in 6th standard. Then after a long break she participated in a one act drama competetion, followed by lots of plays and theatres in asaam. The most famous plays of her:1) MIRI JIYORI(PANOI,LEAD); 2) ANNIE FRANK'S DIARY(N FRANK,LEAD); 3) ASHIMOT JAAR HERAAL HIMA(CHAMPA,LEAD); 4) SONITKUWARI(CHITRALEKHA,PARALLEL LEAD) AND MANY MORE.
She participated in sangeet natak academy youth festival. She has won best actress and 2nd best actress in an one act play "maya".

In mumbai while working with gili as a jewellery designer sge got a call from SHAKUNTALAM PRODUCTION HOUSE. and signed a contract with them for their new show "KUDESAN" for COLORS as a Lead, but unfortunately the show was scrapped due to the policy changes of the channel.Devoleena Bhattacharjee is an Indian TV actress. However, she refrained from revealing her beloved's name. "All I will say is that he is from the same industry", she shared.

When probed further, she said, "My man need not be the classical tall, dark and handsome dude, but someone just like me. He should love me and also be ready to shoulder responsibilities". Talking about her current equation with the recently found love of her life, Devoleena said, "Things are still at a nascent stage. We have not started dating but yes we do meet and have a good time".

Devoleena further shared that she hasn't even told about her blooming love life to her parents. "Let things shape up only then I will talk", she said.

The pretty small screen actress had lately posted some pictures with co-star Vishal Singh on a social networking site because of which there were speculations that the two may be in a relationship. However, she has denied the same stating, "He is just a good friend. We have lots of masti on sets, nothing else".

Devoleena replaced Gia Maanek to play the lead in Saath Nibhana Saathiya some time back and has been well accepted by the audience. Prior to this, she was seen playing the character Baani in NDTV Imagine's Sawaare Sabke Sapne Preeto. The shows TRP's initially dropped due to Giaa Manek's replacement in the show and picked up once the series started expanding its story lines. To date, Bhattacharjee has been praised for her portrayal of Gopi as a strong, passionate character in Saath Nibhana Saathiya as opposed to Giaa Manek's more demure portrayal.
