Karthika Menon born on june 6, 1986 is known by her stage name called Bhavana and she is an Indian film actress. She entered into film industry by doing a debut role in Nammal film which released on 2002 and film was hit in the box offices. This film was directed by Kamal and she won various critical honours and acclaims for her wonderful acting. Within short span of eight years in film industry she made into more than 45 films especially in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films and she has won filmfare award once and won 2 Kerala state film awards.

She recalls that, as a five-year-old, she used to imitate actress Amala's scenes from the Malayalam film Ente Sooryaputhrikku in front of the mirror and was even willing to jump from a building and break her arm, like Amala's character did in the film.She is the brand ambassador along with actress Mythili for team Kerala Strikers for the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), captained by Mohanlal, who is also one of the owners of the team, and vice-captain Indrajith.She has acted in many advertisements.At age 16, she debuted in the Malayalam film Nammal opposite newcomers Siddharth, Jishnu, and Renuka Menon. Bhavvana's entry into the movies happened when she was in Class 11, through veteran Malayalam director Kamal's hit film 'Nammal'(2002), where she portrayed the character 'Parimalam', a girl living in a slum exceptionally well. Though she acted in a supporting role in the film, her performance and dialogue delivery catapulted her name to the list of top young stars of Malayalam industry at that time. This movie won her Kerala State's special jury award. After her debut she did several films in Malayalam and most of them were hits.
